Middle School Spring 2018
Philadelphia City Rowing is offering a FREE Middle School Program that introduces students in 7th and 8th grade to the sport of rowing. Students need to attend a Philadelphia Public or Charter school to participate the program.
Practices are at Lloyd Hall, #1 Boathouse Row, and students will be getting out on the water during the program. Students will have a general introduction to fitness, nutrition, the sport of rowing both on and off the water. Enrollment is limited. This program is funded by a grant from Delaware Investments. Preference is given to students eligible for free or discounted lunch.
Swimming lessons will be offered to students that can’t demonstrate swimming proficiently. All students will need to demonstrate they can swim one lap, and tread water for two minutes. All swimming will take place at Temple’s Pool.
The program will begin on Monday March 19th and end on Monday, May 14th. Practices ae Mondays and Wednesdays-4:15-6:15pm and Saturdays 12-2pm.
