Manny Flick #2
PCR's first race of the spring season!
This past weekend marked the official start of the spring 2015 racing season. PCR competed in the first Manny Flick of the season on Sunday, March 21st, 2015. Five PCR boats competed, including the Varsity Girls 8+, Junior Varsity Girls 8+, Novice Girls 8+, Varsity Boys 8+, and Novice Boys 8+.
On the boys side, the novice boys had great success, placing first in their race, ahead of Saint Joseph's Prep, Concord High School, and La Salle. They posted a time of 5:15. The boys are excited to race next week and improve their time, and continue winning!
On the novice girls side, the girls finished fourth with a time of 6:21. Despite having another boat bump into them at the start of the race, the girls where able to finish strong by making up most of the ground they had lost. This was the first spring race for the novice girls, and they are very excited to race next weekend against the same crews.
Later on in the day, the JV Girls 8+ placed third in a close race between Moorestown and Radnor and the Girls V8 placed second, behind Merion Mercy Academy. Official results can be found here or phillyflicks.com. Great job to all of our rowers who raced this past weekend and we look forward to this Sunday's Manny Flick #3. Some of our novice girls and boys will be racing for the first time! Be sure to check out phillyficks.com and our Facebook page throughout the week to see when PCR will be racing on Sunday, March 29th 2015.
