NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY!

We believe all young people, regardless of where they come from or their socioeconomic status, deserve the opportunity to experience the power of rowing, and access to the physical, mental, and social tools that each unique young person needs to thrive.

By providing personalized academic support, mentoring, swim lessons, and additional enrichment opportunities in conjunction with our highly structured athletic programs, PCR improves the academic achievement, health outcomes, and personal development of our participants.

All of these components are incorporated into PCR’s programs, each of which is tailored to suit different age groups and levels of experience. Programs include competitive rowing for high schoolers (school year), recreational rowing for middle schoolers (school year and summer), learn-to-row camps for high schoolers (summer), learn-to-row camps for middle schoolers (summer).

Our multifaceted programming leverages staff, volunteers, and community partners to provide all PCR student-athletes with a variety of services and opportunities for growth. PCR services are delivered in two locations: the PCR Boatyard at Lloyd Hall (#1 Boathouse Row) and our newly renovated indoor facility at 4017 Cambridge St. Our program’s youth come from all across the City of Philadelphia and represent more than 40 different public schools. Each year, we serve nearly 350 students – 80 in our high school program, 100 in our middle school program, and another 150 in our summer learn-to-row camps.
