Middle School Program

Enrollment for the PCR Spring 2026 Middle School Program is now closed. If you’d like to be added to the waitlist, please complete the enrollment form below and contact [email protected].

Our middle school program is completely FREE for all students in grades 7 & 8 in the School District of Philadelphia.

NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY!

PCR is excited to welcome new and returning student-athletes to our Middle School Rowing Program! This fun and FREE program introduces students in 7th and 8th grade to the sport of rowing. You will learn about rowing through both on-the-water and land workouts and will receive a general introduction to fitness, nutrition education, and environmental education.

You must attend a Philadelphia Public or Charter school to participate in the program.

Proof of swimming ability is requested for participation in our programs but is not required. Students who cannot swim two lengths of the pool or tread water for two minutes will be asked to wear a life jacket when they are on the water. All abilities are welcome to join!

If you have any questions about our middle school rowing program please contact George at [email protected] before submitting your application.

PLEASE NOTE: Philadelphia City Rowing is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants. By enrolling, participants and their families agree to uphold the values and expectations of our program. Participation in PCR’s free programs is a privilege, not a right. We reserve the right to suspend or remove any participant from the program if their behavior or conduct is deemed unsafe, disruptive, or inconsistent with our values, expectations, or code of conduct. Our goal is always to work collaboratively with families and participants to support positive growth and address challenges, but in rare cases, removal may be necessary to maintain the safety and integrity of the program for all.
