About Rowing Pieces

Rowing Pieces is the student-led podcast of Philadelphia City Rowing’s media and communication internship program. Students are building communication and outreach skills that support success in college and career pathways.

The program teaches high school student-athletes how to write, speak, listen, and collaborate in ways that prepare them for college and the workforce. Students contact guests, craft interview questions, and lead conversations about education, careers, and personal journeys. They learn to communicate professionally and confidently in real-world situations.

With guidance from our Director of Student Support, Noah Teachey, students also receive hands-on experience with recording and editing. These skills strengthen their résumés and support access to internships and early career opportunities.

Rowing Pieces expands PCR’s workforce development pathway by connecting Philadelphia students with industries and networks that are often difficult to access. The purpose of this program is to help young people build communication skills, professional habits, and the confidence needed to pursue their goals.
